As funny as it was, I love how this gave my nickname (Jem) a whole other double meaning. Alongside the sparkly aspect, I find that gemstones are just generally fascinating. Diamonds are amongst the most recognisable and valued gemstones - but the true beauty and brilliance of a diamond only becomes apparent once it has been cut and polished, producing facets that reflect light.
